PET BEREAVEMENTFerrets are increasingly popular both as "outdoor" pets and house pets. So it is not surprising that the loss or death of a pet ferret can be just as traumatic as the loss of a pet dog or cat. The sadness felt by ferret owners on the loss of their pet is testimony to the special bond between people and animals.  THE PET BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT SERVICE (PBSS) is run by the Blue Cross. It runs a national telephone and e-mail befriending service, offering confidential emotional support to everyone. So if you are facing the loss of a much-loved ferret or any other pet you might find it helpful to talk to someone who understands.
