Diseases and Common Ailments
In general ferrets are hardy creatures but it is important to watch your ferret carefully for signs of any health problem. Always consult a veterinary surgeon promptly for advice if your ferret shows signs of:
- Breathing difficulties
- Black tarry faeces
- Convulsions
- Coughing
- Diarrhoea
- Discharge from eyes, ears or nose
- Fever
- Lumps or tumours
- Paralysis
- Persistent listlessness
- Persistent scratching
- Sudden weight loss
- Swollen feet
- Tenderness or swelling of a limb
- Vomiting
