Exercise
All ferrets need exercise to keep them healthy. They are very playful and will “ferret-dance” when they are excited, twisting and jumping sideways, often with their mouths open, their tails bushed out (sometimes called bottle-brush tail or happy ferret tail), and chuckling to themselves. They enjoy chasing and jumping at suitable toys, particularly the squeaky ones, in a similar manner to a cat.
Equip your court with ribbed, perforated pipes (usually used for drainage) and they will enjoy running through them as well as rummaging around in cardboard boxes, digging in a bag of compost.
FACT - It cannot be emphasised enough that the purpose of exercise and stimulation, however achieved, is no trivial matter. On the contrary, it is vital to ensure that ferrets are contented and physically fit.
