Re-Homing Policies

We try to match ferrets with owners to ensure that the animals are rehomed appropriately and suitable for the intended purpose and accommodation available.   Accordingly we reserve the right to refuse to rehome a ferret at our discretion.

We reserve the right to ask relevant questions about accommodation, husbandry and experience and to carry out a home check if we consider it necessary.

If we agree to offer you one or more ferrets we request that you contact us to confirm your interest within 48 hours.  After that time the ferret(s) may be offered to another prospective owner.  The Welfare does, on occasions, have a waiting list for ferrets.

Following reservation arrangements must be made for you to collect the ferret(s) at a mutually convenient date and time, usually within a week.

Ferrets must be transported in a suitable, secure travelling box or container such as a purpose made ferret box or cat carrier

Whilst the Welfare does not specify the amount new owners are requested to make a donation to the funds of the Welfare.  This may be done either before or on collection of the ferret(s).  In general donations are non-refundable.

giftaidIf you are a UK income tax pay you can Gift Aid your donation which means that for every pound you give the Welfare receives the tax element, making your donation go further.   To qualify for Gift Aid what you pay in income tax or capital gains tax must at least equal the amount we claim from your donation in any tax year.

If you wish to make your donation on-line you can do so using Paypal.  Please remember to indicate if we are able to claim Gift Aid.
